Landscape Tree Trimming with a Boom Lift

Why hire an expensive tree trimmer to care for your home’s trees when you can rent a boom lift and take care of it yourself? In my case, I have a part time gardener who helps me on the weekend. I rented the boom lift from a local construction rental yard for about $300 delivered. I did the “driving,” and my gardener did the trimming. The boom lift seemed like a safer option than using a step ladder, or just climbing up the trees since all of my olive trees are planted on steep slopes which would make ladder stability problematic, and well…climbing up a tree and then balancing all your weight with two feet and then leaving both hands free to cut branches is just plain crazy unless you’re a professionally trained circus acrobat!
